This taniwha is going to be a big part of our end of year performance - The Story of Kaiwhare. We wrote the play together based on a Maori legend of a taniwha who lives in the blowhole at Piha. We have added our own songs and live instruments to the play.

Since the warmer weather seems to finally be here, we planted our seeds today. By the end of term these should be small seedlings ready for the kids to plant at home. Next step is to plant some more mature plants in our vege garden so we can have some full grown veges by the end of term to use on our handmade PIZZAS. My tummy is already grumbling....
P.S - thanks to Jess and Matt (Mr Mitre 10) Pronk for providing the seeds, pellets and trays!

Computer programming (or 'Coding') is fast becoming a new literacy and many experts are saying it will be key in getting a job for our kids. Check out this NZ Herald article about how coding is being used at Marina View School. We have gone over some basic coding concepts this year but now we are getting serious!
With Code Studio, kids can learn step-by-step to programme simple games like Flappy Bird. I have set each kid up with their own login. Kids, it is important that you don't skip levels because you might miss important steps. If a level gets too hard, watch the video link at the bottom left of the level you're on.
